Grew up in the UK, Roald Dahl was an absolute staple for Mr. It's a complex issue, slightly simplified here. Were they correct in all of their choices in amendments? No. Is likening your past as being a skinny child (which isn't noted as a negative thing in any of Dahls books) against the clear points that being a large person makes you bad/greedy human being in a few of stories an unfair comparison? Yes. Dahl was also wildly inconsistent when it came to this stance, as you can read in the Twits. There's also themis revelry in regards to what the author originally wrote. Dahl was a jobbing writter, as long as he was paid he wouldn't care. I do think it's a step too far, but then I think these issues are more nuanced than you give it credit for. Yes, the pendulum swings wildly, but it will settle, its good for things to evolve, but we also need to be moderately cautious. It's far too complex an issue to be hashed out on UA-cam.

Heh. My first encounter with Anubis is from Joan Grant's novel "Eyes of Horus", when I was around 8 and started to explore my mother's bookshelf. Joan Grant was an author who wrote several historical novels during the early days of last century, and claimed they were memories of her previous lifetimes. Now whatever you may think of that claim, several of them are actually decent enough as novels. Anyway, the main character in that is Ra-Ab Hotep, heir to the Nomarch of the Oryx, one of eighteen provinces in Egypt at the close of the XI Dynasty of ancient Egypt. Most of the story is of him growing up and then taking part in the rebellion against the corrupt pharaoh and the priests supporting him, a rebellion they win. But there are several scenes of Ra-Ab's dreams where he visits some sort of afterlife world, and is sometimes guided by Anubis, who very definitely is painted as one of the good, beneficial gods of their pantheon. So yes, I have always liked Anubis.
